Sivan has healed and we’re back on the road again!

Hello!

Well firstly we’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who wished Sivan well – it worked! After our last email out with the bad news that we had to cancel our UK tour, we had hundreds of emails wishing Sivan a speedy recovery – we tried to email everyone back… hopefully we didn’t miss anyone!
The time off has seen Sivan play a lot of piano and get right back into her painting (you probably don’t know this, but before Sivan went full time with music she was very focused on her art… and she has some serious talent! Our home is full of colour from all her canvasses and ceramic pieces!!)… she was so prolific that there might even be an exhibition in the pipeline…
I’ve been getting right into vegie gardening and early morning surfs… it’s been off chops. AND I studied and took my exams, and I am now a Certified Civil Celebrant! here is my website.www.marriedbytodd.com yeeeha!
AND NOW we are gearing up to get back ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!! WOOHOO!! The first concert will be on the 19th Sept in Kuranda, Far North Queensland… see below for the rest of our tour dates : )
We can’t wait to get out into the world and see your faces smiling back at us… YOU BEAUTIES!
X Big Love
Todd and Sivan

From the Cornwall Coast UK to BERLIN!

Our European Tour 2014 continues….. After a cracking few weeks in London, Oxfordshire, Wales, Devon and Cornwall we made our way to Berlin!

It was a treat to perform at Folk on the Lawn Festival at the beautiful Tintern Abbey, just 20 minutes from Chepstow, Wales. Todd’s nana was born in Wales before moving to Wollongong, Australia, with her family at the age of 7 so we always have an extra soft spot for the Welsh….

The beautiful fishing village of Cadgwith, Cornwall. We enjoyed a relaxing few days soaking up the scenery and sunshine on the Lizard Peninsula. The pub in Cagdwith hosts a folk night every Tuesday and is said to be some of the best sea shanty singing around:)

We had a fantastic night performing at the Ritz Acoustic Club in Burnham on Sea, Summerset. Was a full house of passionate music lovers. The Ritz Acoustic club is an open mic night that has run every Thursday for years and years.. On the 3rd Thursday of the month they host a guest touring act. We had a fabulous night and we will definitely be coming back

After a fun and successful tour of Australia it was time to head back to the UK!!!! We had such an eventful UK Summer Tour in 2013 we owed it to ourselves to get back to the UK again this summer and keep the musical connection alive in Sivan’s home country of England.  So we packed our bags double checked we had our passports and plane tickets and boom! England here we come.. The best deal on flights was via Vietnam so we figured we may as well make a stop over on the way!

The lovely peeps at iMusicianDigital have featured us on their website.  They asked us some questions about being an independent band, our obsession with the 60s and 70s, being a married couple, and the new album!

We still love folk music! our version of ‘Fare Thee Well’ (Dink’s Song)

Last weekend we went to the cinema for the first time in over a year to see the latest Coen brothers film ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ – which follows a week in the life of a folk singer in New York in 1961. This song was a highlight for us so we came home and recorded our own version. Its a traditional folk song first captured in 1908 when an African American woman called Dink was singing it while washing her mans clothes in the Brazos river, Texas. http://www.theaprilmaze.com
